Walk into history

The Weathersfield Historical Society started as the Reverend Dan Foster House Sustaining Association. They leased the Dan Foster House from the First Congregational Church Weathersfield, which became the society's headquarters and museum. The first annual meeting was held at the house on October 12, 1951. The society was formally incorporated in October 1957, and in May 1957 the society purchased the Dan Foster House from the church.

Today the Society boasts hundreds of members from across the country and around the world.
It is directed by a Board of Governors who meet four times a year to plan events, create a budget, and to oversee maintenance of the property.
The work of the Society is supported by its many members and volunteers.

Mission
The mission of the Weathersfield Historical Society is to bring an awareness of the Town’s history and prehistory and its many changes to the Town’s residents and the public. We strive to achieve this mission by conducting and publishing research; acquiring and displaying pertinent materials and artifacts; and by assisting others in their historical and genealogical research.
